China Glaze Kaleidoscope him out

Sretan Uskrs!!  :) Nemam nikakvu posebnu uskršnju manikuru (ionako bi bila uništena jer su mi prsti svi flekavi od boja za jaja) ali evo malo sunčanih fotki od neki dan. Kaleidoscope him out sam već fotkala preko OPI Sonic bloom, ali mislim da zaslužuje i svoj post. Kaleidoscope je bebi plavo-tirkizni holo iz China Glaze Kaleidoscope kolekcije iz 2009. Ah, da sam tada znala da će ovakvih divnih holo kolekcija biti sve manje, nabavila bi ih sve :x. Na fotkama imam dva sloja, iako nebi škodio ni treći (osim ako ga nanosite preko Aqua base ili slične baze)... Dodajte ovome malo boje, od sunca i mog fotića izgleda malo isprano.

Happy Easter!! :) I don't have any special Easter manicure (it would be ruined anyway since my fingers are all stained from egg coloring) but here are some sunny swatches I took a few days ago. I swatched Kaleidoscope him out before,  over OPI Sonic bloom, but I think it deserves it's own post. Kaleidoscope him out is a baby blue to turqoise holo from China Glaze Kaleidoscope collection released in 2009. If I had known there won't be any more gorgeous holo collections like these, I would have grabbed them all :x. There are two coats in the pics but the third wouldn't hurt (unless you are using Aqua base or some similar base coat). My camera and the sun washed out the color a bit, it's a bit more vibrant IRL.

Some more frankens

Otkrila sam da mi je frankening zapravo super prva pomoć kad sam na no-buyu! Svaki put kad me zasvrbe prstići i počnu mamiti razni swatchevi na netu, ja brzo smućkam nešto novo i to me malo primiri, bar na dan :D. Evo dva brzinska swatcha isto tako brzinski smućkanih frankena. Jedino me muči manjak bočica tako da obično nadrapa neki od mojih minića u koje je dovoljno mogu uliti malo nekog holo laka (kako sam maštovita... Nfu Oh 63 i ovaj put) i nekog u boji i promućkati i to je to. Ovaj put žrtvovani su Sephora Tectonic (lila-zelenkasti duochrome) i Merengue (roskasto-ljubičasto-bakrenasti iridescent/duochrome - mislim da nije pravi duochrome već rozo-ljubičasti lak s bakrenim shimmerom). Rezultat nije nešto spektakularno ali ipak mi se sviđa više od originala. Po dva su sloja svakog na fotkama. Sorry na tipwearu... :">

I found out that frankening is really helpful while I'm on a no-buy! Each time I get itchy fingers and become mesmerized by various swatches out there, I quickly mix up something new and forget about my new lemmings, at least for a day. Here are two quick swatches of two quickly mixed-up frankens. The only trouble is finding empty bottles for the frankens so usually some of my minis bite the dust - a half empty mini is great since I can just pour a few drops of some holo (how imaginative :) ), shake it a bit and voila! This time they were Sephora's minis - Tectonic (a lilac to green duochrome) and Merengue (pinkish-purple bronze iridescent/duochrome). The result isn't that spectacular but I like them better than the originals nonetheless. There are two coats of each in the pics. Sorry for the tipwear, btw... :">

My second franken

OK, tehnički i nije mi tek drugi fraken već je drugi (od nekih 6, 7) koji nečem liči :D. Uglavnom, otkad sam na thepolishaholic.com vidjela swatcheve Toxic Avengera frankenerice zvane Dollish Polish, znala sam da ga moram imati. No kako sam trenutno na no-buy režimu a i njezin shop je trenutno zatvoren, pokušala sam smućkati nešto slično. Rezultat nije ni blizu Toxic avengeru :D ali morat će poslužiti, bar na neko vrijeme. Franken je miks Orly Space cadeta i Nfu Oh 63. Na fotkama su dva sloja preko obične Essence baze i sa slojem INM Out the door brzosušećeg nadlaka. Sviđa mi se ovaj roskasti odsjaj ali možda bi trebalo više Space cadeta... ili dodati malo nekog plavog... nešto mu fali, presiv je. Prijedlozi za poboljšanje su dobrodošli :).
OK, technically it isn't my second franken but from the 6 or 7 I have done, it's the second that doesn't look like crap :D. Since I saw Dollish Polish's Toxic Avenger swatches at thepolishaholic.com, I knew I had to have it. But since I'm on a no-buy at the moment and that her shop is closed, I tried to mix up something like it. The result isn't even close :D , but it will have to do for a while. The franken is a mix of Orly Space cadet and Nfu Oh 63, two layers over a regular base coat (Essence) and a layer of INM Out the door. I do love the pinkish reflection but it's just... too gray... maybe it needs more Space cadet, or some blue... Any improvement suggestions are welcome :).

China Glaze Some like it haute

Nakon glittera... još jedan glitter :D. Nevjerojatno je kako mi nisu dosadili ali mislim da ovaj niti neće. Moram reći da mi je ovo, uz Nubar Violet sparkle, najkul glitter koji sam vidjela :x  - sitni crni i srebrni glitter (ako me oči dobro služe) i veliki holografski glitter u prozirnoj bazi. Kao da ste u bočicu China Glaze Nove ulili Milani Silver dazzle... Fenomenalno! Jedina zamjerka je što je "pocicao" dva sloja nadlaka pa sam morala dodati i treći, na dva sloja laka. Some like it haute (divno mu je i ime :) ) dio je zimske Eye candy 3D kolekcije glittera iz 2011. (iz koje mjerkam još i Lorelei's Tiaru...).

After some glitters... more glitter :D. It's amazing that I'm not fed up with them yet. And I'm not sure I could be fed up with Some like it haute... ever. This is one of the coolest glitter polishes I have ever seen :x (along with Nubar Violet sparkle) - it's black and silver microglitter with some large round holographic glitter in clear base. It's like you poured Milani Silver dazzle into China Glaze Nova ... Awesome! The only flaw I can find is that it sucked two layers of top coat so I had to use three. There are two layers of polish underneath. Some like it haute (love the name too :) ) was released in 2011. Winter Eye candy 3D glitter collection (from which I'm also lemming Lorelei's Tiara... ).

Isprobavala sam neke nove "poze", više ili manje uspješno. Neke su dosta smiješne :D...
I've been trying some new swatching "poses", with limited success. Some are quite ridiculous :D...

Ova mi je osobni favorit, zovem je "Napad mutantske šljokičave kandže" :D

Layering: China Glaze Nova over CND Silver chrome

Čini se da je jedini način da napravim koji dobar swatch da počnem nosit fotić na posao i tamo fotkat kad grane mrvicu sunca :D. A možda i bolje da ne fotkam ovih dana jer je sezona šipka, mog najdražeg voća, u punom jeku - dakle, zanoktice su mi u komi :"> i definitivno nisu za slikanje. Pa evo jednog swatcha od prošle zime... Za China Glaze Novom sam poblesavila kad sam vidjela swatch na crystalpolish.com. Ne znam je li dan kad sam ga fotkala bio premaglovit ili što ali na meni nije bio ni približno svjetlucav. Ali svejedno je predivan glitter - kao male holografske disko-kugle na noktima. Na mojim fotkama su dva sloja preko srebrnog foil laka i sloj brzosušećeg INM nadlaka. Kao većina glittera, i Nova se brzo suši i pije nadlak. Kad bolje pogledam svoju kolekcijicu, imam dosta glittera sličnog tipa - Essence Hello Holo, Color Club Sugarplum fairy, Color Club Magic Attraction... ali holo-glittera nikad dosta!

It seems the only way for me to make a decent swatch lately is to start carrying my camera to work and trying to catch some sun :D. But, maybe it's better I don't, since it's pomegranate season and my cuticles look horrible :"> , definitely not something I would take pictures of. So, here's an old swatch I forgot to post... When I saw the swatch at crystalpolish.com, I went nuts for China Glaze Nova and ordered it immediately. I don't quite remember if the day when these pics were taken was cloudy or foggy, but my Nova wasn't anywhere near as sparkly. It is a gorgeous glitter nonetheless - it's like little holographic disco balls on your nails. There are two coats over a silver foil and a coat of INM Out the door top coat in the pics. Like most glitters, Nova dries fast and drinks top coat. I actually have a few similar glitters in my stash - Essence Hello Holo, Color Club Sugarplum fairy, Color Club Magic Attraction... but I'll probably never get enough of holo-glitter!

Color Club Sugarplum fairy

OK, ovaj post neću započeti s još jednom isprikom zbog nedostatka postova, nema smisla, a dosađujem i vama i sebi. Jedino mogu obećati da ću pokušati postati kad god stignem. :) S jeseni stižu i swatchevi pod svjetlom lampe, koje nažalost obično oduzme puno od boje laka ali ovom glitteru to kao da nekako ne smeta. Fotke su malo spržene ali ipak dosta dobro dočaravaju svjetlucavost ovog lakića. Sugarplum fairy je lila holografski glitter u prozirnoj bazi - šljokice "u hladu" izgledaju srebrno-lila a na svjetlu počnu svjetlucati u svim bojama. Podsjeća me na miks Color Club Magic attraction i OPI Mad as a hattera. Tri sloja i jedan sloj nadlaka - ne bi škodio još koji ali trebalo bi ga dosta da bude onako glanc a lijep mi je lak i bez toga. Plus, htjela sam izbjeći mogući "katapult efekt" čest kod puno slojeva glittera i nadlaka - pojavu kad lak jednostavno odleti s nokta u jednom komadu (i obično završi u važnim dokumentima na poslu ili na stolu usred sastanka :"> ). Sugarplum Fairy dio je Color Clubove božićne kolekcije - Beyond the Mistletoe.
I won't start this post with yet another apology for the lack of posts - why bore you with excuses? All I can do is promise I'll try posting as often as I possibly can ;). With another fall, the dreaded artificial light swatches return. They usually take a lot from the real color of a polish or even make it unrecognizable, but this baby doesn't seem to have a problem with it. The swatches are a bit overexposed but the color and the effect is pretty accurate.  Sugarplum fairy is a silvery lilac holographic glitter suspended in a clear base - "in shade" the particles appear silver with a hint of lilac and in the light, the holographic particles come to life. It's somewhere in between Color Club Magic attraction and OPI Mad as a hatter. There are three layers in the pics and a layer of top coat. It would probably take 3 layers of tc to make it really smooth but I like it like this. Plus, I wanted to avoid the possible "catapulting effect" that sometimes occurs with glitter polishes and too many layers of tc (when the polish flies off the nail in one piece, usually ending up in important work documents or the conference table in the middle of a meeting :"> ). Sugarplum fairy was released as part of this year's holiday collection - Beyond the Mistletoe.

My first franken

Nisu mi baš neki swatchevi ali uzbuđena sam zbog svog prvog frankena pa ih ipak stavljam.:D Moj mali no-name franken je miks New age mini plavog lakića s pulta u Nami i Nfu Oh 63. Već mjesecima slinim nad genijalnim frankenima na More Nail Polish ali još uvijek nisam uspjela naći Spectraflair pigment, pa pomislih - zašto ne skemijati nešto s holo lakićima koje već imam. Bočica je sama po sebi mala - 4.5 mL i bila je 80% puna tako da pretpostavljam da je recept miksa otprilike 3,5 ml plavog lakića i 1 mL Nfu Oh-a. Nisam stavila više iz jednostavnog razloga - bočica je već bila puna. A možda bi i previše posvijetlila boju. Mislim da je za bazu bitno da je ili jelly ili sličan prozirnkast lak. Pretpostavljam da ne bi dobro ispalo s krem lakom. U svakom slučaju, zadovoljna sam s prvim frankenićem i sigurno ću smućkati još koji uskoro. :x
I've had better swatches but I'm so excited about my first franken I'm posting these anyway :D. My little unnamed franken is a mix of the New age mini no-name and Nfu Oh 63. I've been drooling over the fabulous frankens over at More Nail Polish for months but I still haven't been able to get some of that Spectraflair pigment, so I thought - why not try to franken something with the holos I already have. The base polish bottle is pretty small - only 4.5 mL so I guess I used around 3,5 mL of the blue and 1 mL of Nfu Oh 63.  I think it works best if the base is a jelly or a similar formula. I don't think it would work with a creme base. Anyhow, I'm happy with how it turned out and I'll surely be mixing some more soon :x.

Kleancolor Holo Chrome

Evo i prvog Kleancolor lakića... Holo Chrome! Jednostavno... mrak! :x Lila-plavi jelly pun holografskih čestica koje svjetlucaju u tisuću boja. Na mnogim swatchevima, a i u bočici, ovaj lak izgleda više ljubičasto ali na noktima bih rekla da je ipak plav. Nijansa je negdje boje različka i jako me podsjeća na OPI ds Glamour, samo je svjetliji i bez linearnog holo finiša. Na fotkama su dva sloja laka i sloj brzosušećeg nadlaka (koji je obavezan i zbog relativno sporog sušenja i zbog prikrivanja gadnog mirisa). Očekivala sam i puno duže sušenje ali eto - legla sam navečer s dva sloja laka i brzosušećim nadlakom i nokti su ujutro bili OK. Već sam spomenula koliko Kleancolori smrde pa ako imate izrazito osjetljiv nos možda ovi lakići nisu za vas. Ali ako ste spremni pretrpiti malo gadnog smrada koji mogu usporediti jedino s ljepilom za cipele, za 1.75$ mislim da se stvarno isplati. S druge strane, ovakav lak bi mogao biti od pomoći ako se pokušavate odviknuti od griženja noktića :-SS, nema šanse da uopće i pokušate!  Stranicu s koje sam naručivala ne bih tu spominjala - istina, moji su lakići stigli čitavi no neke blogerice su imale problema s curenjem.

And here's my first Kleancolor swatch... Holo Chrome! It's just... amazing! :x A purplish blue jelly chock full of holographic glitter particles that sparkle like crazy. In many of the swatches I've seen and in the bottle it looks more purple but on the nails the blue prevails. I'd call this a cornflower blue and it reminds me a lot of OPI DS Glamour, just lighter and with a different holo formula. There are two coats and a coat of fast-drying top coat in the pic (the tc is a must because of the slow drying and to help cover the smell). I actually expected the drying to take much longer but I applied it before bed at night with tc and the nails were fine in the morning - no sheet marks or anything. I already mentioned the terrible smell of these polishes so if you are too sensitive, I wouldn't recommend ordering these. If by any chance, you are prepared to suffer the awfulness of what I could only compare to shoe glue, for 1.75$ I think it may be worth it. On the up side, these polishes could be of help to those trying to quit nail biting :-SS. I would mention the website I ordered these from - my polishes arrived well packed and fine, but since some of the bloggers have had trougle with leakage, I don't feel comfortable recommending it.
